Our Services

General & Preventative Dentistry

As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure.  Preventative dentistry is the modern way of helping you keep a healthy mouth. Seeing your dentist regularly helps avoid dental decay and gum disease.

A regular preventative care appointment with your dentist will allow most dental problems to be detected and diagnosed early. Preventative appointments may include exams, X-rays, scale and clean, oral hygiene and dietary counselling and fissure sealing.

General dental procedures may include tooth coloured fillings, crowns, bridges and tooth extractions.

Teeth Whitening

Many people aspire to having a brighter and whiter smile.  Teeth whitening is aimed at improving the appearance of tired, discoloured and stained teeth.  Jetty Dental offers a comprehensive at-home whitening system that includes:

  • Impressions of upper and lower teeth
  • Customised upper and lower whitening trays
  • Whitening kit with ample supply of whitening gel
  • Trays worn for one hour per day
  • Results within 2-3 weeks

Your dentist will examine your teeth and determine if teeth whitening will be a suitable and effective option for you.

Emergency Dental

Dental emergencies include things such as severe tooth pain, dental abscess/infections, traumatic sporting and workplace injuries, broken teeth and fillings, and wisdom teeth infections.

We understand that dental emergencies can be distressing and painful and can occur at any time.  The staff at Jetty Dental will always attempt to treat urgent toothaches and dental emergencies on the same day.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Are your teeth stained, discoloured, worn, chipped or broken?  Are you missing teeth and lack the confidence to smile? Cosmetic dentistry refers to a range of dental procedures aimed at improving the appearance of a person’s teeth, gums, bite or smile.

Some specific treatments may include:

  • Teeth whitening
  • Dental crowns/veneers
  • Dental bridges
  • Dental implants
  • White coloured fillings

The dentists at Jetty Dental utilise a vast array of techniques and materials to achieve these results.  Some cosmetic cases may be very simple however more complex treatments will often take multiple visits to complete.  You can be assured that your dentist will involve you in the treatment planning process to find the best cosmetic solution for you.

Root Canal

In some instances, it is often more complex to extract a tooth and replace it than to save it.  Root canal treatment  refers to the procedure aimed at repairing and saving a badly damaged and infected tooth.

A root canal treatment aims to remove and clean out the diseased pulp and replace it with a filling. Successful root canal treatment results in the elimination of infection and the protection of the tooth from future microbial invasion.  This may also involve the provision of a dental crown to strengthen the treated tooth.

Some of the signs that may indicate the need for root canal treatment include:

  • continuous dental pain that is affecting sleep
  • lingering pain to hot/cold foods
  • pain when chewing foods
  • swelling around tooth

As with all our dental procedures, your comfort is our top priority. All root canal treatments are performed under local anaesthetic and patients should feel little to no discomfort during the procedure.

If you are suffering from any of these symptoms you should seek urgent dental treatment.

Dental Implants

Despite our best efforts, sometimes tooth loss is unavoidable and dental implants can provide a permanent solution to missing teeth. A dental implant  is a small  titanium screw that is surgically positioned into the jawbone to replace a tooth root.  Following several months of healing and bony integration, your dental implant will have formed a strong bond with the surrounding bone. A dental crown can then be permanently fixed to the dental implant to provide a comfortable and natural looking replacement for your missing tooth.

Dental implants can also be used to replace more than one tooth.   Multiple dental implants can be used to restore larger gaps and are also used beneath full dentures to improve denture stability.

Treatment with dental implants requires a lot of patience and meticulous planning.  Jetty dental utilises the latest technology to provide our patients with the best chances of a successful outcome.

Tooth Extractions

We always strive to save as many natural teeth as possible, however, there are times where tooth removal is necessary for the health of our patients.  Our experienced clinicians are very experienced with both simple and surgical extractions and always strive to make these procedures as comfortable and stress free as possible.

Wisdom Teeth Removals

Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are the last adult tooth to form and erupt  so it is very common for wisdom teeth to have insufficient room for complete eruption.  It is common for wisdom teeth to grow at the wrong angle and start to cause problems from the late teenage years.

Common wisdom teeth problems include:

  • infection leading to pain and swelling of gum tissue around the tooth
  • pain when chewing and limited opening
  • decay in neighbouring teeth

If your wisdom teeth have been causing you problems, it is recommended that you have them removed.  A comprehensive intraoral and radiographic consultation will be carried out prior to removal of your wisdom teeth.  Jetty Dental can provide the surgical removal of most wisdom teeth under local anaesthetic.
